'The measure of improvement is always assessment. Without something or someone to compare your performance to, gauging improvement is difficult. Assessing allows you to do the following... Test your abilities against others Test your abilities against your own results Demonstrates weakness in specific areas of your overall fitness Motivates you to improve Highlights causes for concern if your score is poor Adds direction to your regular training Adds a degree of fun to your training if you compete with friends Gives you something specific to train for The Foundations’ Fitness test challenge provides you with a well-balanced method of assessing your overall fitness. There are 10 tests in total which are broken down into strength endurance, power, speed and agility, cardiovascular fitness and body-stats. No testing system is perfect. There will always be variables due to the differences in the individuals taking part just as there are in all sporting events. You will have strengths and weaknesses in all the events and it is highly unlikely that anyone will hit a perfect 100 score. Bear that in mind when calculating your total score.'
