'Being able to use the outside arm is a key skill for any circle defender but especially a GK who is more likely going to be battling with a holding shooter. Intercepting with the outside arm allows a defender to step around the play and tip/control the ball into their own possession. Outside arm means \'using the arm closest to the ball and on the outside of the player\'. If you are marking your player\'s left side, your outside arm will be your left arm and vice verse. Start by practising and developing the core skill then look to add movement.
